Resilient Beauty
Dim Flaxenwick
I've spoken before of a resilient beauty,
A woman,
Who won't let life's problems destroy her,
She smiles while she's dying inside.
Her picturesque stature brings second glances,
She lights up a room as she enters,
And forces such laughter that rings out oér others,
Filling the room with her joy.
Yet, I know the truth of her "natural laughter",
She´s smiling while dying inside.
Her love knows no boundaries, giving to all,
A gentle, empathetic nature.
No-one must know the truth of her heart,
No-one must guess how her soul´s torn apart,
She's smiling, while dying inside.
Life is a fairground of thrills and excitements,
With disappointments along with the rides.
This beautiful woman lives life to the full,
But she's smiling while dying inside.
Oh! Beautiful woman, so kind and so generous,
You're allowed to be human , you know.
You don't have to always keep the ‘stiff upper lip'
Brave face,.. best foot forward,...let´s go....
Emotional death need not be final.
A resurrection of joy can be found.
A soul and a heart can learn to recover.....
Let someone in...let someone know you...
Don't waste your life pretending for others,
You have wings. You can soar.... You can glide....
You'll do it, for sure, though I know for the moment,
You're smiling, while dying inside.
